The Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) Fellowship is a newly accredited MIGS, AAGL comprehensive program.

Formerly known as the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Pelvic Surgery Fellowship, first established in 2003, our program has expanded and includes our team’s board-certified/board-eligible faculty:

  • 5 gynecologists (including 3 AAGL fellowship trained graduates)
  • 3 gynecologic oncologists
  • 1 urogynecologist

Our goal is to train leaders in minimally invasive gynecology with the ability to manage complex benign pathology. Recent fellows have participated in more than 300 cases per year. The fellow will obtain training in conventional laparoscopy, robotic, vaginal and open surgery, with an emphasis on complex laparoscopic cases including endometriosis, large uterine fibroids, pelvic pain and adnexal neoplasms. The fellow will actively participate in resident education and surgical simulation. Regular didactics include GYN tumor board, GYN radiology conference, morbidity and mortality conference, along with the required surgical simulation and didactics put forth by the AAGL.

Fellows will be supported in research and are required to submit at least one article to a peer-reviewed journal and present at least one abstract or video per year at the national AAGL meeting.

The fellow will have offsite reproductive endocrinology training one day per month to broaden his or her exposure.

Our fellowship currently supports one fellow for a total of two years, recruiting one fellow every other academic year.

Apply online at aagl.org. Three reference letters (one from your residency director) should be submitted to [email protected].

Virtual interviews will be held July 27 from 8 am to noon.
